Paul Moore was appointed Chief Executive Todd Energy in 2011 and also Executive Vice President Upstream Energy and Resources with Todd Energy’s parent company the Todd Corporation. Since taking on the role, Paul’s focus has been on growing the Taranaki business, with emphasis on commercialising and developing the Mangahewa Field, and on international growth.
With Todd Energy’s emerging North American business, Paul has been appointed Executive Vice President, Todd Energy International. He is now responsible for all of Todd Energy’s activities outside of New Zealand.
Paul has held a number of senior executive positions in the international oil and gas sector during the past 30 years. Prior to joining Todd, he was Managing Director of ASX Junior, Otto Energy, Executive Vice President Development (Woodside), Vice President Development Projects and Technical Services (Santos). Paul was employed by Fletcher Challenge for 11 years during which time he was a Director of Maui Development Limited (New Zealand, five years) and also held various upstream management roles in New Zealand and Brunei, Borneo.
He began his oil and gas career with Shell International where he was employed as a petroleum engineer, in the North Sea, North Africa, and in New Zealand.
Paul has a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (2:1 honours) and a Diploma of Engineering (Southampton, UK). He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Chartered Engineered and SPE member (30 years).

Vice President New Zealand Upstream Energy
Joanna Breare was appointed Chief Executive Todd Energy in 2014 and in addition to this role, she is Executive Vice President New Zealand Upstream Energy with Todd Energy’s parent company, the Todd Corporation.
Joanna graduated from London University with a BSc. (Geology, Hons 1st class) and a PhD (Geology). Joanna has 28 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with involvement in exploration, development, project management and reservoir geology roles. She has worked in the UK and Vietnam with BP. Joanna migrated to New Zealand in 1997 and was a consultant to Shell, STOS and Fletcher Challenge Energy prior to joining STOS in 2002. During her 12 years at STOS, Joanna has held the positions of Deputy Development Manager, Joint Venture Business Manager and Deputy General Manager with her most recent role being Exploration and Development Manager for STOS and Shell New Zealand.
General Manager Commercial and Planning
David Salisbury has over 20 years’ experience in the exploration and production industry. Before joining Todd Energy, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of New Zealand Oil & Gas Limited from 2007 until the end of 2011. David has previously held senior roles in New Zealand and internationally, including Vice President Business Development at OMV, Vice President of Preussag Energie’s New Zealand subsidiary and in various roles for Fletcher Challenge Energy. David holds law and commerce degrees from Victoria University.
General Manager Development
Markus is responsible for reservoir development, project services and development engineering. He has 16 years’ experience in reservoir management, engineering and development. Markus has worked in a number of countries around the world, working with OMV, Exxon Mobil, STOS and NZOG in a variety of reservoir engineering roles. Most recently he was Head of Subsurface for OMV in Tunisia. Markus completed his petroleum engineering qualifications in Austria.
General Manager Operations
Andrew Clennett has worked in the oil and gas sector for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Todd Energy Andrew held senior management roles with Woodside Energy. He began his career as a drilling engineer and has led drilling and development projects in a number of countries. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Mechanical/Electrical) from the University of Tasmania, Australia and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
General Manager Business Development, International Exploration and Production
John has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector working with companies such as Occidental Petroleum, Ampolex Limited and Premier Oil. He is an experienced executive of public listed companies, including as founding Managing Director of Voyager Energy Limited. John holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum geologists (AAPG).
Manager Human Resources and Community Relations
Jane provides strategic and operational leadership of human resources, communications, community relations, sponsorship and administration for the upstream energy division. She has 17 years’ experience in human resources consulting, management and leadership roles within the NZ oil and gas industry. She has worked in HR management roles with Fletcher Challenge Energy, Swift Energy, Origin Energy and Resources and most recently as Operations Manager at Offshore Marine Services.
Manager Health, Safety, Community and Administration
David Bradley has 24 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and has held various regional management positions for Halliburton in Health, Safety, Environment and Service Quality (HSE/SQ) working throughout Australasia, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Eurasia. He has extensive experience in the development and implementation of HSE/SQ management systems, behaviour based safety performance programmes, risk management, competency programmes, and delivering training and incident management. David holds a Diploma in Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
